Ingredients
FOR THE CRISP TOPPING
- 1 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into 1/4 inch cubes
- 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
FOR THE APPLE FILLING
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamom
- 6 medium tart apples such as pippin and Granny Smith, peeled, halved, cored, and sliced 1/4 inch thing
Directions
- Grease a 9-by-13 inch rectangular baking dish.
