Crumb Cake

Today, I made a great classic crumb cake. After my mom came back from working out at the gym, I surprised her with some herbal tea and this cake. She was able to sit back and I was glad to be able to help her relax. This is great for an afternoon tea or along with your breakfast!



Ingredients:Cake

  • 1 1/4 sticks of unsalted butter
  • 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups sour cream

Ingredients:Streusel

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter

Apple Crisp

Ingredients

FOR THE CRISP TOPPING

  • 1 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into 1/4 inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped

FOR THE APPLE FILLING

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamom
  • 6 medium tart apples such as pippin and Granny Smith, peeled, halved, cored, and sliced 1/4 inch thing

Directions

  1. Grease a 9-by-13 inch rectangular baking dish.
  2. To make the topping, in a small bowl, stir together the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Cut the butter into the mixture with a pastry cutter.
  3. To make the apple filling, stir together the granulated sugar, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  4. Put the apples in a large bowl and add in the sugar mixture.
  5. Stir it together, and place the apples in the baking dish
  6. Sprinkle the struesel topping over the apples.
  7. Bake in a 350 ° oven for about 50 minutes, or until the topping is crisp and golden brown.

Fettuccini Alfredo

BiancaVision Episode 1

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of Fettuccini or spaghetti
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 clove of chopped garlic
  • 1 pint of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley
  • 6 strips of crumbled bacon

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of water ,seasoned with salt, to a boil.
  2. Add in the spaghetti or Fettuccini. Cook it for 7-8 minutes or until al dente.
  3. While the spaghetti is cooking, in a seperate pot, melt the butter and add the chopped garlic.
  4. Stir the pint of heavy cream into the butter and garlic. Let it cook for about 5 minutes or until thick.
  5. Pour the spaghetti into the sauce. Add the chopped parsley and crumbled bacon. Toss it around with tongs to stir.
  6. Serve with grilled chicken or garlic bread. Enjoy!
